The maritime network, or as it commonly called, "Grappe Ressources, Sciences et Technologies marines", is a grouping of partners from the institutional, research, business and government sectors. Its mission is to create an environment that fosters the sharing of resources and expertise so that the critical mass of knowledge and synergy that is thereby created will increase the partners’ ability to pursue their goals and be more effective.

This cradle of knowledge supports the development of a knowledge economy in the Québec maritime and creates an environment that fosters the production of know-how and innovation. Such an environment also fosters the transfer to innovative businesses that convert knowledge into high added-value products and services.
