For the past ten years, the Technopole Maritime du Québec (TMQ) has carried out its mandate of positioning the stakeholders in Quebec’s marine science and technology sector on the national and international stage, as well as promoting the excellence of the companies, institutions and organizations of eastern Quebec. As an ACCORD “niche of excellence, its role is to act as an engine of economic growth for our region, using the knowledge economy to promote development. To ensure that the TMQ’s impact is strong and positive, our organization can also rely on nearly six hundred professionals in the fields of marine sciences and technology of the region.

The collaborative and promotional efforts deployed over the last ten years have made the TMQ a key player in building the sector’s reputation and visibility — exposure that is essential for further development of the sector. Now more than ever, TMQ needs the support of Quebec’s marine science, technology and biotechnology community in order to maintain its effectiveness and continue working for the sector in the upcoming years.

The TMQ provides leadership in several areas and focuses its efforts on four main levels:

  • Coordination and networking
  • Promotion of the sector
  • Advocacy
  • Leadership on major issues

Over time, the TMQ's activities have fostered new organization and business start-ups that are helping apply and commercialize the expertise developed in our research and teaching institutions. This concept is at the core of our strategy for making this industry a leading player in the economic growth of our region.

To make sure that this important work continues and to keep developing projects, the TMQ relies on the support of the companies and organizations it represents.

Contributions to the TMQ represent a commitment from the businesses, organizations and communities that benefit from its services. The TMQ is mandated to coordinate ACCORD projects in the marine science and technology sector, a “niche of excellence” for Quebec. This recognition enables the TMQ to provide the region with major financial tools to support promising projects in this sector. Quebec’s Ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation; Canada Economic Development; and the Conférence régionale des éluEs (assembly of elected officials) for the Lower St. Lawrence recognize this important role and have reiterated their confidence in the TMQ.

Your membership will allow your organization to gain exposure through the promotional and advocacy efforts undertaken by the TMQ. You will also be able take advantage of exclusive networking activities and the opportunity to serve on the board of directors.
